Should I try chemical drain cleaner first?
We'd rather you didn't. It rarely clears a real blockage, it can damage older pipes, and it makes the job hazardous for whoever opens the drain afterwards. A plunger is fine to try.
Why does the same drain keep clogging?
Usually grease in a kitchen line, hair and soap in a bathroom, or a pipe with a poor slope or a build-up further down. Your technician will tell you what they found and how to keep it clear.
